This family is the first to be played in Riverbloosm Hills. They are actually a "combined" family of Maxis made sims. The Roth people are one, and the Crittur dogs are another. I do not remember how I determined to make the Roth's the Crittur's new family, but thus it is. It made for a couple of easy wishes first thing when we start the play by buying some pet stuff. Since Morty is now partially a Grilled Cheese sim he starts off making grilled cheese sandwiches.
Xandra talks on the phone, I believe to Etsu Cho to try and make friends with her. So far they are not friends, although I do think a day or two later they become friends.
So the good part about moving the Crittur's in with this family is the kids like to do things with them. The bad news is, they are the worst dogs ever. They do not have any "good" skills and in fact nearly starved to death multiple times early on because they wouldn't eat anything but people food, which I didn't realize nearly as quickly as I should have. They also attempted to destroy everything early on.
Sandra, being part Romance sim wanted to date and be flirted with really bad. I checked her relationship panel and low and behold she has a steady boyfriend in Jacob Martin. So they head to a community lot for a date.
The date went very well and Sandra was very happy. Unfortunately for me, we have a rule about wishes met on dates not counting towards the 5 a day, so Sandra still had wishes left to get.
Xander came home with an A+ report card and was very proud of himself. Sadly, his dad wanted his sister to come home with an A+ not him. So no wishes were actually met for this.
Sandra, being the half romance sim she is wanted a hot tub. The family didn't have a TON of money but did have enough after a good chance card to get one, so it was. We see who I believe is Cleo Shikibu is here. We play her house next.
Sandra woke up the next morning wanting to do her homework. I thought, oh great, she will wish for this in the morning and be able to get it done. Boy was I wrong. This is one of the ONLY times she wished to do her homework early in the round.
Morty was able to talk grilled cheese with Mr. Burb. I believe we already had discovered he would talk the cheese, but it's a good refresher anyway. With all the grilled cheese sims that are in this hood, there are a fair number of them to talk the cheese with and quite a few who are willing to talk the cheese. Sadly for Morty, Stella is not one of them.
Sandra wanted a cell phone so we went to a community lot to get one. When we arrive she also wished for a handheld game. This met a couple of very quick wishes for Sandra. It was around here when I realized I never had the family invited downtown. I must have missed the phone call, as I was playing with really low volume.
Xander wanted to get swung around and I believe both parents were busy. Sandra was free, however, and was willing to swing her brother around.
The Crittur's are still here and life has gotten much better for them. They now eat out of dog food bowls, spend a lot less time trying to destroy the house and are even almost if not full friends of the family members. We did get a surprise, however, when Sarah gave birth to 3 puppies. They were named and sent off to the shelter before anyone could get attached. I am trying to remember what I named them all. I know Stevie was the girl puppy but cannot remember the others now. This is why I typically write them down but was lacking in my notes this round.
Sandra suddenly wanted to get a logic still, although she is starting to get bad grades in school, as is Xander, as either has been interested in doing homework for days. Neither of them has wished lately to get an A+ either, which I would have determined to mean, I want to do homework.
The Pleasure side of Stella suddenly starts to kick in and she wanted to light a fire. It does make a pretty picture. Nothing more happens with the fire this day, but you just never know.
All of a sudden Xander, who has a D+ currently, wanted to do homework and he asks his mom to help him. He didn't get through the entire stack this night, but he did get quite a bit done. He wanted to do more during the weekend and got himself all caught up.
Sandra suddenly had a want to plant a seed, so she went to their small garden and planted a tomato seed. She then promptly wanted nothing more to do with gardening, so it was eventually composted.
Back inside Morty suddenly remember he's mainly a knowledge sim who wants to skill. So up the skill tree, he starts to climb. I do not remember which still this was, I want to say Mechanical, but either way.
Sandra acts more like a romance sim most days, which I find funny seeing as how she is a popularity pleasure. She wakes up most days wanting to kiss and date, which are also pleasure sim wants often times, but then she will snap back to specific pleasure sim wants like play on the couch. She had just had a home date with Morty.
Stella, unfortunately, makes a poor choice on a chance card and ends up fired. She is sad about it but never wishes to find a job again. If she does we will see if we can get her back into Journalism, as it is her LTW, but otherwise, she will just stay home.
The next morning we see that one of those dates Stella had with Morty has gotten Risky involved and we have a baby on the way. I was very surprised as she had not acted pregnant. No morning sickness, needs didn't drop much faster than normal, nothing.
We then have an unwanted visitor. Forgot to have them pay the bills they had picked up so the repo man came and took the computer, and then a dog chew toy. Stella paid the bill and then re-bought the computer (since she held the wish) and the dog chew toy.
Stella suddenly wants to study creativity. Luckily on one of the upper floors the family has a piano, so she sits down and "studies." Maybe this means she will eventually want to get back to a job after the baby is born.
Xander wants to do things with his new friend Bottom Summerdream. I see potentially a lot of fun with these two, although he is also friends with Etsu Cho. We will see where wishes take him as he grows up. He will turn into a teen the first day of the next round.
Sandra's romance side is really kicking in and she wants to flirt with some of the other guys in the neighborhood. Being she is also family, anytime she doesn't wish for a specific person we keep her going with Jacob, but it might end up that he isn't her ultimate partner.
Another pregnancy pop with a smelly dog in the room, apparently. The dogs are pretty messy even at the best of times. I often intercede with the dogs right now because of how "bad" the dogs were. Now that they are getting much better I will probably stop that.
We end the round with 2 more puppies coming along. I once again do not remember what I named these two, although I'm pretty sure they were both girls. Both puppies were sent to the adoption pool right away.
Summary:
Morty Roth: This season was very hard for Morty. He wasn't sure if he wanted to be a knowledge sim, a grilled cheese sim, or what. He also could not keep his mood up, nearly ever. Spent a good portion of the first couple of days dealing with the dogs, although towards the end things started looking up for him. He is interesting, as he throws all kinds of wishes for Sandra to do well in school and go to college, but never wishes for Xander to do well in school.
Ending Wishes: Be Saved From Death, Gain a Mechanical Skill Point (Locked), Sandra (Roth) Goes to College, Sandra (Roth) Gets Scholarship
Stella Roth: She was one of the easier sims to keep happy in this family, especially after she lost her job. She wanted to kiss and date nearly every morning. Her husband was happy to oblige her. She is starting to be better friends with her kids and we will see what sorts of wishes she throws next round.
Ending Wishes: Ask Sim on Date, Eat Grilled Cheese Sandwiches, Be Flirted With, Buy a Car
Sandra Roth: She was up and down this week, but was the easiest on a regular basis to meet wishes for. Her romance side certainly took over, and by the end of Sunday, she had thrown a couple of Do Homework or Get an A+ wish that caused her to finally get caught up. We will just have to see how next week goes for her. She has an ongoing wish to go to college. It rolls away once in a while for a wish or two and then rolls right back. So I have gone ahead and locked it for now.
Ending Wishes: Be Best Friends with Hunter (Grove), Be Friends with Natasha (Una), Ask Sim on Date, Go to College (Locked)
Xander Roth: He had a rough week. He wanted to so bad to play with or be friends with the dogs, but early on they had no desire to be friends with him. He'd get the relationship built up, would go to give them love and they would reject it. He never wanted very typical kids wishes, outside of things for the dogs, so it was harder to keep him happy. Towards the end of the play time, we started getting into a stride I hope will continue.
Ending Wishes: Get A+ Report Card, Go Fishing, Play with Danny (Crittur), Be Best Friends with Bottom (Summerdream)
I admire how you mark down how many wishes were fulfilled. I never thought to do that. I admit I can't get 5 wishes every day for every sim. The way homework is handled....my sim kids have to do theirs, then wishes. I should probably make it rougher and make them wish for it. I think that would be more fun.
ReplyDeleteI don't know if I've always done it that or, or if for these guys was just torturing them and myself. I believe most of my kids have wish, at the very least, for homework help. It was like Xander came home with an A+ almost no one overly cared so he stopped doing it. Thanks for reading!
